State of Mind: Exploring Mental Health Experiences of Polish and Romanian Communities in Sandwell (#SOME)
Co-created support, learning, and empowerment for our community

About State of Mind
A community led project aimed at Polish and Romanian communities living in Sandwell focused on understanding the needs around their mental health; encouraging greater participation through listening campaigns as part of data gathering, providing hands on support through a wide range of workshops for both children and adults, counselling, and training sessions for staff and volunteers to empower the community to help themselves. Lastly, creation of a digital platform for our community to be used beyond the life of the project as part of its legacy.

Community Feedback

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the ACE's training - it was a very valuable and moving experience for me. I realised how important it is to look at another person, or at students, not only through the lens of their behaviour, but also through their own story - often invisible, yet greatly influencing their daily functioning.
This training also resonated deep within me - because, after all, each of us, often unconsciously, carry traces of our own childhood experiences. Such training sessions are extremely necessary - not only for our work, but also for our personal awareness and empathy.
